The Hockenheimring already has a tradition of being the IDM final track. The first ever motorcycle race took place at the Baden Motodrom in 1932. In 1957, the first motorcycle Grand Prix was held in Hockenheim. Because the old track was too long and there was almost nothing for spectators to see in the long forest sections, a shorter track with better overtaking opportunities was created and completed in 2003. The Hockenheimring is a flat track with the ultra-fast Parabolica left turn . The Motodrome has a cult character.
