The Nürburgring Grand Prix Circuit (GP-Strecke) is a modern race track located in Nürburg, Germany, and part of the legendary Nürburgring complex. It was opened in 1984 as a replacement for the infamous Nordschleife (Old Nürburgring), which was considered too dangerous for modern Formula One racing. The GP circuit was designed with safety in mind and has hosted several major motorsport events, including Formula One, MotoGP and DTM. It has undergone several changes, most recently in 2002 when a new section (Mercedes-Arena) was added. Nestled in a beautiful natural landscape, what makes this circuit special is its location on a hillside. The maximum gradient is 12% and the maximum gradient is 9.3%. Three long straights with hard braking points guarantee action and overtaking maneuvers, while the flowing middle section demands precision. https://www.redbullring.com/de/
